What She Wore Out

(I so stole the title to this post from other blogs)

We did the whole Trunk o' Treats things at our church yesterday so we wouldn't have to stay sugared up late tonight. G came up with the doctor theme after listing so many options that would require hats or masks or boots or some other something that she dislikes. So doctor was the easiest idea.

We were going to borrow my mother's x-ray for her to carry but alas we forgot to get them when we left Saturday. I found a suitable "dr. bag" for her to deposit the candy so the big orange pumpkin wouldn't take away from the aesthetics of the outfit.

Today, she is going to the zoo with her class which was a reschedule from last week. So my parents graciously agreed to accompany her so I could work. She spent last night with them which meant I got the whole bed to myself was alone last night and didn't have to get up early this morn.

Yesterday While at My Mom's...

I found this drawing G had done. Apparently, G and my dad were having a drawing competition. See who won? She made herself a first place ribbon to put on it as well. G does really well in art anyway. Sometimes however I am surprised at how well she does.

One thing that surprises me is her creativity. When I am around she ALWAYS asks me to tell her what to draw. Even if I say "no" a thousand times she still wants me to tell her what to draw.

Now don't get me wrong, I am never opposed to helping her but mostly I would like for her creative juices to flow. She can really get demanding even going to the bargaining lengths, you know, "Just this one time, PLEASE tell me what to draw." It gets old really fast.

When G gets an idea she is truly a bull dog about it and won't let it go and I don't mean with regard to a creative idea. I mean she tends to get fixated to the point that sometimes I wonder if she even remembers for what she started asking/demanding.

But back to this drawing, she is only 7 and I love the details with the things in the backgound. I couldn't do this well at my age now, much less at 7.

Soccer End of the Year

This year the teams received trophies. Typically Upwards doesn't give trophies but this particular church was able to supply each child with a trophy about which G was SO. VERY. EXCITED.

I think she was more excited about the trophy than she was about scoring the winning goal. Isn't she a cutie patootie?

Finally, last game of the season, G scores the winning goal. Their team even had to come from behind. Woot!

For the season the team was 2 wins 6 losses.

I recently set up a highlights card for 2011. The pictures are on both front and back with a summary of what the year was like. I love the card. I think I am going to use it for my holiday cards.

I love Shutterfly for several reasons, one is they are relatively easy to use. Another reason is that the photo and project storage is a life time. The other reason is that Shutterfly gives great deals to loyal customers. I have completed several photo books for G beginning from referral through this past September. Her life is well documented in photo books. The best thing is if the house burns down (which is my one of my many irrational fears) I can still get the books from Shutterfly in a re-order situation.

Shutterfly used to only have certain options for page design that were fixed placements of pictures, but now you can actually redesign their pages by editing and adding photos or captions to the already set pages. I love that. I truly try to get as many pictures per page to tell the story of G as well as I can.

Before you do, remember who has been in control of congress with a majority in House and Senate from 2008-2010 and who controlled the White House during the same time frame. And look at the havoc that was caused.

This was not inherited but caused directly by Barney Frank (fannie and freddie) and the dems.

UPDATE

So one update is that the car didn't come back like the police told me. It was another car. So that is really good news, maybe the potential kidnappers are forever gone.

Second update is 8-5 is not bad. We were able to get up and to school early actually so that I can set the alarm a wee bit later. The call center for today hasn't been too terribly bad. Of course that may change as the week goes on.

Third, this year I am skipping the whole flu shot thing since I am not allowed off to get the freebie. That is a long story and gripe of mine but I am trying to remain positive right now.

Fourth, I have several (2) books to review and post. They are both really good books and I am enjoying reading them but honestly sometimes finding the time is difficult to do. I will get them done soon though.

I know there was more to update but I forgot what all I wanted to say so I will have to come back later and re-post more.

G's Twin

What G spent the Saturday after soccer doing, making her twin sister, heh.

Glenys was so excited to make her scare crow. She had the clothes picked out earlier this week. Her grandad and she got the hay from the side of the rode where some fell off a truck. She had a great time doing this on her own other than having help assembling the sections.

(The head is just a bag so that is why it looks so odd.)

The car of potential abductors returned today to the very same cove. The tags on the car are stolen. They must be desparate. Please pray they are caught soon.
